With
the invaluable support of DSM India’s CSR initiative, SEEDS launched an
impactful transformation in community nutrition through the POSHAN Programme
across six districts of Maharashtra Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Pune,
Palghar, and Thane. Focused on adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating
mothers, this initiative addressed malnutrition at its roots, empowering those
most at risk in the nutrition lifecycle.
In
partnership with the Women and Child Development Department, Government of
Maharashtra, SEEDS conducted extensive capacity-building programs for Anganwadi
Supervisors (AWS) and Anganwadi Workers (AWW). These frontline champions were
equipped with enhanced knowledge, practical tools, and innovative technologies
to deliver impactful nutrition education and services in underserved
communities.
A
hallmark innovation of this programme was the introduction of the “Poshan Card”
a specially designed microSD card preloaded with curated, multilingual
nutrition and health videos. This offline digital solution revolutionized
grassroots communication, enabling AWWS and AWS to convey critical messages on
maternal nutrition, balanced diets, and child health with unprecedented clarity
and reach.
SEEDS
always welcomes strategic partnerships with CSR leaders and development
organizations seeking to create tangible, sustainable impact in the fight
against malnutrition. Together, we can empower millions of women and children across
India with knowledge, dignity, and nutrition security.
